The Negril Fire Station was one of the first sites established for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) due to its high emergency response call volume. It is one of many fire stations to be supported in an effort to improve safety and security within the resort areas. The fire station has benefitted from the renovation works to its property as well as the purchase of an ambulance.
The renovation works to the building begun in 2019, in order to improve its aesthetics and functional services. The works included, but were not limited to, upgrades to the restrooms and kitchen, electrical works, plumbing, general painting, removal, and replacement of defective or damaged windows, doors, and structural members.
In 2020, an ambulance was purchased for the fire station to assist with enhancing their response capabilities in times of emergencies and/or disasters.
