The Closed Harbour Beach otherwise known as the Dump Up Beach is a 16-acre property owned by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) and is one of the few public beach facilities in the city of Montego Bay.
This beach is one of many under the Tourism Enhancement Fund’s Beaches Programme that is currently undergoing major infrastructural improvements to facilitate a welcoming environment for both tourists and locals alike. The design for the upgrading of the beach was done by the Urban Development Corporation in order to provide world class recreation facility in Montego Bay for visitors and locals.
With the improvements, the beach will remain free for public access as well as include food vending stalls, jogging track and other sporting facilities, sewerage, a new office for the Urban Development Corporation, and other amenities for ease of access to the beach and its surrounding areas.
