Tourism Entertainment Academy: Elevating Jamaican Talent for Tourism

The Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) is spearheading the Tourism Entertainment Academy (TEA) to enrich Jamaica’s entertainment landscape and boost its integration into the tourism sector. TEA nurtures intermediate-level entertainers, equipping them with professional and business skills to thrive.

Guided by the Blue Ocean Strategy of the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), this initiative expands cultural experiences for visitors while creating new opportunities for Jamaican talent. We help aspiring entertainers and entertainment professionals achieve sustainable, fulfilling careers in the tourism industry by providing industry-driven, market-responsive training that seamlessly integrates performance excellence, entrepreneurial skills, and direct industry connections. We offer a structured, real-world pathway to employment, ensuring graduates are skilled performers and confident, knowledgeable professionals ready to engage both the tourism and entertainment industries with purpose and success.

The pilot programme—focused on reggae, jazz, and comedy—will launch in Montego Bay, bridging the gap between talent and demand in the tourism sector.

To elevate entertainment in Jamaica’s tourism industry to world-class standards by developing and empowering entertainers to emulate skilled professionals who deliver exceptional tourism experiences.

We are dedicated to delivering premier education and training in entertainment tourism. Our dynamic programs are designed to meet industry demands, nurturing talent into thriving careers that enrich Jamaica’s cultural landscape and global reputation.
