Position Summary:
The Experience Guide – Rum is the lead host of Rum Cask’s flagship session, combining tastings, pairings, and cocktail demonstrations into a world-class journey through Jamaican rum heritage. This role requires charisma, product knowledge, and performative storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
➢ Deliver engaging rum tastings, pairings, and cocktail-making sessions.
➢ Share Jamaican rum history and cultural context with confidence and accuracy.
➢ Maintain high standards of hospitality, ensuring guest satisfaction.
➢ Upsell premium marques, retail bottles, and add-on experiences.
➢ Monitor and manage guest intoxication levels responsibly.
➢ Coordinate with Barback/Steward for mise-en-place and reset.
Qualifications & Skills:
➢ Prior bartending or sommelier experience required.
➢ Strong public speaking and storytelling ability.
➢ Knowledge of rum production and Jamaican spirits preferred.
➢ Sales and upselling skills.
➢ Professional grooming and presence.
Physical / Work Requirements:
Stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
➢ Lift and carry up to 25 lbs (bottles, glassware, equipment).
➢ Work weekends and evenings.
